The Green Solution

About Us

By caring about the service we provide our customers we will win more business

Company History

The company was founded in 1978 by Margaret and John Pitcher who cleaned the offices of IPC Business located in Oakfield House, a multi tenanted office block in Haywards Heath.

Due to their reliability and quality of work they were awarded the contract for cleaning the communal areas of the building and contracts with the other tenants soon followed.

When Margaret and John decided to retire in 1995 it was an ideal opportunity for their son Nick and his business partner Robert Morris to step in and take the company forward.

Robert and Nick had, at that point, each gained 10 years experience of commercial cleaning working in London for OCS, a national cleaning contractor.

Sussex Cleaning & Care have continued to build upon its reputation for Quality and Reliability by delivering a professional range of services whilst remaining competitive.

The company remains totally focused on its target market, the more discerning Sussex based small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs). They are professional and they want to deal with professionals. They know what they want and anything less isn't good enough.

Health & Safety

The Health, Safety and Welfare of our employees, clients and others affected by our activities is crucial.

Sussex Cleaning & Care is SAFE Contractor accredited. Under the SAFE Contractor system, businesses undergo a thorough vetting process which examines Health & Safety procedures and their track record for safe working practices.

Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database which is accessible to registered users only via www.safecontractors.com. Our certificate number is FM3351.

Nick Pitcher is responsible for Health & Safety within the company. As Operations Director he takes an active role in overseeing the implementation of safe working practices at each of our sites. Nick completed a 4 day, Managing Safely course with IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety & Health) in November 2010.
